西藏人民广播电台藏语广播于1959年1月1日正式开播，至今走过了50年的历程。藏语广播开播50年来，始终以宣传党的基本理论、基本纲领、基本路线和党的方针政策为中心，坚持为社会主义服务，为人民服务，为全党全国的工作大局和自治区党委、政府的中心工作服务。按照新时期西藏工作的指导方针，牢牢把握正确的舆论导向，宣传西藏的大好形势和人民安居乐业、建设小康社会的正面宣传作为宣传重点，集中宣传西藏各个行业在中国共产党的领导下所发生的翻天覆地的变化。在雪域高原唱响共产党好、社会主义好、改革开放好、人民军队好、人民群众好、伟大祖国好的时代主旋律，为建设“小康西藏、平安西藏、和谐西藏、生态西藏”营造了良好的舆论氛围和精神动力。
