台灣廣播公司關西轉播台則早於民國58年成立，頻率為810千赫，電波涵蓋區域為竹東、峨嵋、南庄、楊梅、中壢等地。址設新竹縣關西鎮東安里上屯10鄰7之1號，當時海峽兩岸仍處敵對，是以壓制中共電波為主要任務，因此以轉播台聲廣播電台之主台節目，以服務偏遠關西地區之聽眾。
