"SFERA istnieje od 1996 roku, kiedy to brawurowo połączyły się dwie rywalizujące ze sobą od kilkudziesięciu lat rozgłośnie studenckie. Jednak tradycja radiofonii studenckiej w Uniwersytecie Mikołaja Kopernika sięga połowy lat 50-tych ubiegłego wieku. Słychać nas przede wszystkim w toruńskich akademikach, bo tylko tam wisi „wysokiej klasy” sprzęt audio. Jesienią 2001 roku dołączyły do nas miliardy potencjalnych słuchaczy, którzy mogą spotkać się pod adresem www.sfera.umk.pl."
