O projeto para liberação da emissora já começou em 1998. Após a incansável luta junto ao Ministério das Comunicações, entrava no ar a Rádio Ponte FM, que recebeu esse nome para homenagear o maior símbolo de Indaial, a Ponte dos Arcos.
