A emisora ten a súa orixe no Club de Prensa da Universidade da Coruña. Devandito club realizaba en 1995 un programa chamado A pé de Kampus en Radio Culleredo, e pensaron que a UDC debería ter unha radio que dese voz a todos os estudantes e colectivos, así que o 15 de xuño de 1995 crearon o Colectivo de Universitarios Activos como Asociación Xuvenil.
